Svibanjsko izdanje Mixmaga bilo je i slavljeničko jer je ovaj popularni magazin elektroničke glazbe proslavio 25 godina rada. Od new wavea, do acid housea, summer of lovea, super-klubova, eksplozije partija na Ibizi itd, Mixmag je uvijek bio u središtu zbivanja na sceni. Njegovi novinari uvijek prate najnoviju glazbu i modu, pritom intervjuirajući najveće Dje, producente, umjetnike ili glazbenike. Mixmag je barometar najdinamičnije glazbene scene na planeti, scene koja iz dana u dan se sve više razvija iz žanra u žanr, od breakbeata do deep housea, od electra do minimal techna.
Prvo izdanje časopisa objavljeno je 1983.g. na 16 stranica u crno-bijelom izdanju. Jedan su od prvih magazina u svijetu koji su dali medijski prostor imenima poput Daft Punka, The Chemical Brothersa ili Basement Jaxxa. U svom slavljeničkom izdanju napravili su rekordan niz zanimljivosti, intervjua i članaka o najvećim imenima scene, pa su tako pisali o imenima kao što su featuring Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk, Pete Tong, Dizzee Rascal, Paul van Dyk, Roisin Murphy, Moby, Mylo, The Prodigy. Mixmag možemo slobodno nazvati Biblijom elektroničke glazbe.
