Radi se o dokumentarcu snimanom gotovo tri godine u kojemu poznati umjetnik Vik Muniz kreće na put iz Brooklyna u rodni Brasil kako bi posjetio najveće odlagalište otpada na svijetu "Jardim Gramacho". Odlagalište se nalazi u okolici Rio de Janeira gdje Vik fotografira skupinu "catadores" – samoprozvane sakupljače recikliranog materijala – kreirajući portrete ovih ljudi okruženih smećem kojeg skupljaju. Nevjerovatno je gledati transformaciju ljudi koji gledajući na svoj život istovremeno pokazuju ponos i očaj. Fotografije postaju djela suvremene umjetnosti i bivaju prodane na aukciji, a novac od prodaje dodjeljen "caradoresima". Režiserka Lucy Walker je uz pomoć Mobijeve glazbe uspjela zaokružiti i dočarati život ove čudnovate skupine.
